Privacy Policy
Plug Your Build is operated by Ninsei Labs. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
- Account data. When you sign up via email, Google, or GitHub, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture through Clerk (our authentication provider). We store your Clerk user ID and organization ID in our database.
- Listing content. Any title, description, tagline, destination URL, and images you submit as part of a listing. This content is public once approved.
- Billing data. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, but we never see or store raw card numbers.
- Usage data. We record impression counts (how many times your listing was shown) and click counts (how many times visitors clicked your destination URL). We use PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for error tracking.
- Newsletter email. If you subscribe to the Sunday digest, we store your email address with Resend Audiences.
How we use your information
- To operate the service. Authenticating your account, displaying your listings, processing payments, and sending transactional emails (approval notifications, billing receipts, dunning reminders).
- To improve the product. Aggregate analytics help us understand which categories are popular, where users drop off, and how listings perform.
- To send the Sunday digest. If subscribed, your email receives a weekly roundup of new listings. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any digest email.
- To moderate listings. We run submissions through an AI classifier (Anthropic Claude) to pre-screen for SFW compliance. This is automated and does not result in permanent profiling.
Third-party services
We share data with the following providers only to the extent necessary to operate the service:
- Clerk — authentication and user management
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
- Resend — transactional email and newsletter delivery
- Supabase — database hosting (Postgres, hosted on AWS)
- Cloudflare R2 — listing image storage
- PostHog — product analytics
- Sentry — error monitoring
- Anthropic — AI moderation of listing submissions
- Vercel — application hosting
We do not sell your data to any third party.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and local storage for:
- Session management — Clerk sets a session cookie to keep you logged in.
- Referral attribution — if you arrive via a referral link (
?ref=), we store the referrer in a cookie for up to 30 days. - Analytics — PostHog uses cookies to track sessions across page views. You can opt out via your browser's Do Not Track setting.
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing purposes (e.g., Stripe transaction records, which Stripe retains per their own policy).
Public listing data (title, description, destination URL) may remain indexed by search engines after deletion; we have no control over third-party caches.
Your rights
You may at any time:
- Access your data by logging into your dashboard.
- Correct your listing content or account details from the dashboard.
- Delete your account and associated listings by emailing support@ninseilabs.com.
- Unsubscribe from the Sunday digest via the unsubscribe link in any digest email, or by visiting your subscription settings.
- Request a data export by emailing support@ninseilabs.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the EU or UK, you also have rights under GDPR / UK GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Children
Plug Your Build is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will post the updated policy at this URL and, for material changes, notify you by email. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
